Psalm 51:10 (KJV)
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
It is spring time! For many, this time of year brings thoughts of flowers blooming and spring cleaning.
If you are anything like me, you are probably busy cleaning out closets and trying to declutter the house. We spend a lot of time throwing stuff out, reorganizing, and dusting every corner of our houses. Do we ever stop and think that maybe our homes are not the only place that needs decluttered?
Our lives and our hearts need to be cleaned out every now and then too. So while you are cleaning out that closet, think about what might be hiding in your heart that also needs to be cleaned out. Maybe you have over loaded your lives with so many activities and stuff that you don’t know if you’re coming or going. Now is a perfect time while you are busy cleaning out your home, to take a good look at your life, organize your priorities, and see what can be cleaned out.
This month, we will be looking at ways to declutter our lives and grow closer to God. When the weeds are cleaned out of the garden, flowers will grow; when our hearts are cleaned out, we can grow closer to God. When our closets and homes are decluttered, we can find things more easily; when our lives are decluttered, we can hear God better and see what He has in store for us.
