Psalm 46:1 (KJV)

46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

How often do you feel weak and worn down? I know I often do. I allow the world to consume me. We need to realize God is our strength. He is always there for us. All we have to do is call out to Him.

I heard the song “Strong Enough” by Matthew West the other day. It touched me and reminded me that we have to get to that point in our lives where we surrender to Him. We have to realize that we cannot do it on our own. Only God can give us the strength we need to overcome all. He is true strength.

Psalm 33:6-9 (KJV)

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

I know all this sounds so easy – Just give up and let God. That is way easier said than done. At least for me it is, and I don’t know why I struggle with it so much. I have read many Bible stories about His strength and watched Him work in so many people’s lives. God has picked me up so many times I have lost count, so why do I doubt He will come through one more time?

God spoke the heavens and earth into existence, so He can definitely take care of us and our problems. We have to remember to focus on His strength and not our own weakness.
