So it is the beginning of a new year, and everyone is making new resolutions, myself, included. I’m going to eat better, drink more water, start exercising and focus on some new projects. What are yours? Did you make any? All the things I listed are important. But, I can’t help but think about a poem I read. Here it is below:
I have only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me, can’t refuse it.
Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it.
But it’s up to me
to use it.
I must suffer if I lose it.
Give account if I abuse it.
Just a tiny little minute,
but eternity is in it.
By Dr. Benjamin E. Mays
This has had an impact on me. I have been thinking about it for days and even though all those things I listed are important. I really need to focus on time management. I need to account for every second in every minute. What am I doing with those seconds? Who am I impacting? Time, once it is gone, it’s gone. We can’t get it back.
This is going to be a goal of mine for this year. Am I making the most of the time that God has given me? Am I using my time to impact others for Christ? Remember, it is only a tiny minute with sixty seconds, but we are responsible for how we use it.
