Deuteronomy 28:2 (KJV)
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
As a nation, we are beyond blessed. We are completely spoiled. Just think about it for a second. We have all heard the stories from third world countries around the world. What do we have to complain about truthfully?
Do we recognize God’s blessings in our lives? Do we ever stop and think about everything He has done for us?
I have talked about doing a blessings journal in other blogs. To some people, it may be too overwhelming to think about starting a journal. Here is a simple way to start.
Take five minutes each day to write down some things that God has blessed you with. That is not very long. You can find five minutes while drinking your morning coffee. It may be awkward at first, but just try it. Write down as many things as you can think of in that time. Nothing is too small, each breathe we take is a blessing.
The more we become aware of God’s blessings in our lives, the easier it will be to stay positive. It will also help us to remain closer to God. The more in tune with God we are, the more likely we are to hear and respond when He asks something of us.
