Revelation 3:8
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
We are always presented with opportunities in our lives, open doors you might call them. I believe God opens and closes doors in our lives all the time. But not every open door we come across was opened by God. We have to pray and lean on His leadership to know whether or not we should cross the threshold.
Remember when you are presented with an open door it will not contradict God’s Word. That is why it is so important to be in His Word every day. If we are praying and letting God direct our path we will be able to recognize the right door to enter. God won’t force us through the door. He won’t drag us kicking and screaming. We have to be willing to enter. Remember though if God opened it, He can close it too. We may miss out on a blessing if we pass it up.
I believe God has been trying to teach me these three lessons:
- We need to open the doors of our hearts to others by showing love.
- We need to open the doors of our homes by being hospitable.
- We need to open the doors of our lives by sharing our story with others.
If we could all do those three things, we could change the direction of our nation. Showing love and compassion to others just like Jesus did. We can’t reach people by slamming the doors of our hearts, homes, and lives.
